Devon’s (hypoallergenic) Bread/Buns

This is a "no eggs, no milk products" dough recipe. Can be used for bread or buns.

Ingredients

  • ⅓ cup water per 1 cup of flour
  • 1 Tbsp of oil per 1 cup of flour
  • 1 Tbsp of yeast (heaping, for 4 cups of flour)
  • pinch of salt
  • sugar (4 - 6 Tbsp for 4 cups of flour)

Method

Put yeast in bowl with some warm water and a bit of sugar. Let rise ’till it overflows.

Add risen yeast and other ingredients in a bowl.  Up cordless drill and paint mixer to mix together.

Knead dough until your hands are tired and let rise until bowl if full.

Separate dough in to balls (for buns) or big dough sausages for loaves of bread.

Notes:

  • You can adjust the amount of sugar depending how sweet you like your bread.
  • 4 cups of flour makes 2 loaves / 20 buns.
